Inter striker Lautaro Martinez will face off against his AC Milan counterpart in tomorrow evening’s Supercoppa Italiana match just one month after they met in the final of the World Cup.

This is noted in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who highlight how tomorrow’s match can echo the final of the World Cup in Qatar.

Martinez will hope that he can get the better of Giroud at club level just as he did at international level when Argentina beat France on penalties to get their hands on international football’s biggest prize.

The Inter striker did not start that match but came on to give his team an extra push in extra time, whilst Giroud started the match for France but was taken off early as coach Didier Deschamps decided to change France’s attack around.

Both of the pair are expected to start tomorrow, and either of the pair could be decisive.
