Inter and Barcelona’s talks regarding a possible swap deal involving forwards Joaquin Correa and Memphis Depay were over virtually before they began.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that the idea of an exchange between the two players was only discussed briefly, and that their respective contract situations made talks a non-starter.

Over the past couple days, reports have emerged that a swap deal involving Correa and Depay has been under discussion.

Barcelona and Inter are both currently in Saudi Arabia for their respective Supercup competitions, and are currently in discussions.

Depay looks set to leave Barcelona in search of playing time, whilst Correa has also found himself out of favour at Inter.

However, according to Tuttosport, the fact that the Dutchman is out of contract at the end of June whilst the Argentine’s deal runs until the end of June 2025 means that there would be little possibility of a player exchange.
