Romelu Lukaku is likely to be fit enough to start on the bench in tomorrow evening’s Supercoppa Italiana match against AC Milan.
This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the 29-year-old is aiming to play in tomorrow’s match, and that he should at least be fit enough to play some minutes during the second half.
Lukaku is reportedly still experiencing some discomfort in his knee from the injury which caused him to miss Inter’s Coppa Italia match against Parma and Serie A match against Hellas Verona.
However, according to the Gazzetta, the Belgian completed a full training session with the rest of the squad today, and there were no problems.
Lukaku has told Inter coach Simone Inzaghi that he wants to play during tomorrow’s match, even if it is only from the bench.
The Gazzetta reports that while Inzaghi has yet to decide on whether or not to include the Belgian in the squad for tomorrow’s match, signs are positive that he will be deemed ready to be in the matchday squad to be called upon as a substitute.
