Inter have defeated AC Milan in the final of the 2022 Supercoppa Italiana after winning 3-0 at the King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Inter started the first half brilliantly scoring a wonderful worked team goal where Edin Dzeko was the architect and Federico Dimarco applying the finish.

Some 11 minutes later Edin Dzeko turned Sandro Tonali inside out before doubling the Nerazzurri’s lead with a clinical finish.

Milan started the second half much better and created a few chances but didn’t trouble André Onana significantly in the Nerazzurri goal.

Then in the 77th minute Lautaro Martinez made Fikayo Tomori look like a schoolboy scoring Inter’s third on the night.

The Nerazzurri’s last triumph in the competition came last January after Alexis Sanchez scored the winner with the last kick of the game in extra time against Juventus to secure the title, winning 2-1.

This was Inter coach Simone Inzaghi’s third title since taking over the Nerazzurri hot seat and his fourth win in the Supercoppa Italiana overall, having won the trophy in 2017, 2019 and 2021 defeating Juventus on every occasion.

Last season the former Lazio coach also led Inter Milan to a Coppa Italia, also then defeating Juventus after Extra Time but by a wider margin, namely 4-2 in Rome’s Stadio Olimpico.

This was AC Milan’s coach first appearance in the Supercoppa Italiana, having led the Rossoneri to it by winning the Serie A title last spring, the club’s 19th Italian league title.
