Inter striker Edin Dzeko has been named as the best player on the pitch in his team’s 3-0 win over AC Milan in the Supercoppa Italiana yesterday.

The 36-year-old received the highest score of any of his teammates in the player ratings for the match published in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who also praised defender Alessandro Bastoni as “dominant.”

Whilst Dzeko did not assist Federico Dimarco’s opening goal, the Bosnian’s pass in the buildup was certainly instrumental in setting it up.

Then, the former Roma and Manchester City striker did one better by scoring his team’s second, bamboozling Milan midfielders Sandro Tonali to do so.

For the Gazzetta, Dzeko’s performance was worth an outstanding 8/10 score.

Meanwhile, coach Simone Inzaghi was praised for getting his approach right, whilst Lautaro Martinez was commended for leading the line well, and the likes of Bastoni and Matteo Darmian’s defensive displays were highlighted.
