Inter defender Francesco Acerbi has been praised for another excellent performance at the back in the Nerazzurri’s 3-0 Supercoppa Italiana win over AC Milan yesterday.

The 34-year-old received a score of 7/10 for his display in the player ratings for the match published in today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who commend his efficient and composed display at the heart of Inter’s back three.

Acerbi has been showing throughout this season that he is capable of holding down Inter’s defense in impressive fashion, even against some of his toughest tests.

City rivals Milan, and striker Olivier Giroud, were always likely to be one of the 34-year-old’s more difficult assignments, but he looked as solid as ever, making sure that the Rossoneri hardly had a sniff of goal.

For Tuttosport, all of the Nerazzurri’s back three deserve credit for how they handled the Milan attack, but it was Acerbi who really shone with another no-nonsense display.
