There looks to be little question that Inter will extend the contract of striker Edin Dzeko past the end of the current season.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that whilst there are still the financial terms of the contract to be worked out, the player and club both clearly feel that they want to agree an extension.

Dzeko once again illustrated that his age is no impediment to his continuing to be an important player for Inter with his outstanding performance in yesterday evening’s Supercoppa Italiana win over AC Milan.

This only underlined what was already the case, which is that the Nerazzurri fully intend to offer the former Roma, Mancester City, and Wolfsburg striker a new deal.

For his part, the player is also keen to stay on long past the end of the current season.

Now, Dzeko and Inter will work to try and agree the terms on a new deal.
