Inter have laid down a marker that they want to approach the rest of the Serie A season with the same hunger and intensity that they did the Supercoppa Italiana match against AC Milan.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the players have promised the directors, staff, and President Steven Zhang that they will do everything to keep repeating the performance against the Rossoneri every week until the end of the season.

Inter were at something close to their very best to defeat city rivals Milan on Wednesday in the Supercoppa.

The team were compact and fiery in the defensive phase, and fluid and incisive when they attacked.

This owed to a high technical and physical level, and also to a level of motivation and concentration that has frankly not always been there this season.

As far as the players and staff are concerned, they believe that something is there for them over the rest of the season if they continue approaching matches like this, with every trophy still to play for.

Accordingly, the Gazzetta reports, during the celebrations of the Supercoppa win, the Nerazzurri players told Zhang that they intend to do everything they can to keep this exact momentum going.
