Inter striker Romelu Lukaku is likely to be fit enough to appear in the team’s Serie A clash with Empoli, whilst Marcelo Brozovic should return from injury against Cremonese.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the pair are both very close to being ready to return to action.

Lukaku was on the bench for Inter in Wednesday’s Supercoppa Italiana clash with AC Milan, the Belgian’s first appearance in a matchday squad for the Nerazzurri since their Serie A match away to Monza.

However, the Belgian was an unused substitute against the Rossoneri.

According to the Gazzetta, Lukaku would in all likelihood be ready to at least play a role off the bench in Monday’s Serie A match against Empoli.

Meanwhile, Brozovic has not been fit to play for the Nerazzurri in any of their matches since the return from the winter break.

According to the Gazzetta, however, the 30-year-old should be part of the matchday squad for the Serie A match against Cremonese on January 28.
