Inter striker Romelu Lukaku is recovering well from the injury suffered earlier this month and could make his return to action against Empoli on Monday.

According to FCInter1908.it, the Belgium international is nearing full fitness again and took part in group training today, as the Nerazzurri prepare for their Serie A clash against Empoli at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

It remains to be seen whether Lukaku will be unleashed from the start of the match, or come on as a substitute, but he is expected to be involved in the match against the Azzurri.

Meanwhile, there is further good news on the injury front, with goalkeeper and captain Samir Handanovic, and midfielder Marcelo Brozovic close to finalising their recoveries from their own respective injuries.

The pair are not yet ready to join in with group training, but are expected to step up their fitness work and return to the squad over the coming week.
