Chelsea are considering a move for Inter-linked Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie during the January transfer window.

This according to UK news outlet the Telegraph, who report that the 25-year-old has emerged as a short-term target for the Blues to strengthen their midfield this month.

Kessie is currently at Barcelona, but could leave the Camp Nou after only half a season given that he has not received much playing time over the course of his time at the club so far.

Inter have been one of the main potential destinations linked for the Ivorian, with reports from Italian and Spanish media suggesting that he could make the switch back to Serie A to join his old side AC Milan’s city rivals.

However, there is also interest in the 25-year-old coming from the Premier League.

According to the Telegraph, Kessie is on Chelsea’s radar.

The Londoners have been targeting the likes of Benfica’s Enzo Fernandez and Brighton and Hove Albion’s Moises Caicedo during the window, but have been unable to pull off deals for either due to the prospective fees involved.

However, the London-based club are still aiming to sign a midfielder before the transfer window closes.

According to the Telegraph, Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Yves Bissouma is one player who the Blues have inquired about, whilst Kessie is another target for them.
