Paris Saint-Germain coach Christophe Galtier has admitted that he does not know if Inter centre-back Milan Skriniar will join the club this month, or arrive in the summer.

Slovakia international Skriniar is out of contract at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in June and does not appear set to sign a new deal with the Nerazzurri, amidst reports that he will instead opt to move to French Ligue 1 leaders PSG.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of PSG’s Coupe de France match against Pays de Cassel, and as reported by FCInterNews.it, Galtier suggested that Skriniar may be due to join the club, but he could not give a timeframe on the switch.

“Before the transfer window, I said there would be arrivals only if there were departures,” the former Lille and Nice coach claimed.

“Pablo Sarabia left for the reasons we know. The club and (sporting director) Luis Campos are working to have an additional offensive option.

“As for Milan Škriniar, I have read the news that has been published but I can’t tell you if he will come this winter or next summer, I can’t tell you.

“The management are working on things. I have so many things to work on with my players and I need to be focused on what we need to improve.”

Skriniar joined Inter from Sampdoria in 2017 and has made 241 appearances for the Nerazzurri, scoring 11 goals and helping the club win the Serie A title, as well as the Coppa Italia.

Whilst he would be a free agent in the summer, PSG have been linked with a transfer this month as they seek a defensive reinforcement.
