After lifting the Supercoppa Italiana in impressive style last week, Inter are ready to build on that by focusing on challenging for the Serie A title in the second half of the season.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere dello Sport, the Nerazzurri’s comprehensive 3-0 win over AC Milan in Riyadh to win the first piece of silverware of the season has lifted the squad, providing them with focus upon their return to league commitments.

Inter currently trail Serie A leaders Napoli by 13 points, with a game in hand, and face a monumental task in hauling back Luciano Spalletti’s side if they are to secure the Scudetto.

However, Simone Inzaghi’s team have a dominant record at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, with only Roma taking points from them at home in a 2-1 defeat in October.

Inter will play five of their remaining seven matches against direct rivals at home, and only have to travel to face Roma and Napoli, giving them hope that they can secure crucial points in front of their own fans.

Meanwhile, Inter are the only team to inflict defeat on Napoli this season, and hope that they can find the form to challenge the Partenopei at the top of the table.

In addition to this, Inzaghi is boosted by the return to fitness of midfielder Marcelo Brozovic and striker Romelu Lukaku, with the pair missing most of the first half of the campaign through injury.
