Inter are not completely closing the door on selling Milan Skriniar to Paris Saint-Germain in January if they receive a suitable offer, and will look to replace him with Trevor Chalobah.
As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere dello Sport, the Nerazzurri are expecting to lose Skriniar to PSG in the summer, with the former Sampdoria defender refusing to sign news terms with only six months remaining on his contract.
Whilst Inter would like to retain the Slovakian for the remainder of the season, directors Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio would consider sanctioning a sale should PSG meet their €20 million asking price to bring Skriniar in immediately.
Should this be met, the Nerazzurri will focus on Chelsea defender Chalobah, having monitored him closely last summer.
The Premier League club are heavily stocked with defenders, and the arrival of Benoit Badiashile this month pushing Chalobah further down the pecking order.
It is hoped that Inter could secure the Englishman on loan to see them through until the end of the season in Skriniar’s absence.
Other longer term options to replace Skriniar include Rodrigo Becao at Udinese and Tiago Djalo of Lille, whilst their dream signing remains Atalanta teenager Giorgio Scalvini.
