Empoli head coach Paolo Zanetti feels that his team’s match against Inter this evening will be very tough given the quality of the opposition, but that they have a real chance.

Speaking in a press conference ahead of the match, as reported by L’Interista, the coach praised the Nerazzurri as not just one of the best teams in Serie A but in all of Europe, nevertheless expressing faith that the Tuscans will have a chance.

Empoli travel to the San Siro knowing that they will face one of the most formidable challenges of their season by far, at least on paper.

However, there is always room for a real upset within Serie A, and even the comparatively smaller teams like Empoli can boast real quality all over the pitch as well as the discipline and organization to see out results even against the teams at the top end of the table.

“It will be a tough match because right now Inter are playing at their level, which is not just one of the best in Italy, but in all of Europe,” Zanetti said.

“But we can’t focus too much on them and go there with the mindset that we’ll be sacrificial lambs,” he added.

“We have to focus on our game, and we know that in football, anything can happen.”
