Inter forward Joaquin Correa feels that while the Supercoppa Italiana gave the team a great boost, they are already focused on the future.

Speaking to InterTV ahead of the team’s Serie A match against Empoli, via FCInterNews, the 28-year-old stressed that the Nerazzurri want to make sure that they can keep the momentum from their Supercoppa win going.

Inter won the first piece of silverware on offer for the season by getting the better of city rivals AC Milan last week.

This laid down a significant marker for the team’s season, but at the same time they still have half of the campaign yet to come.

As far as Correa is concerned, the team’s only priority is to keep things moving in a positive direction after the Supercoppa triumph, starting with this evening’s return to Serie A action against Empoli.

“Empoli are a team that play good football,” the Argentine said of this evening’s opposition, “they have quality players in midfield who can move the ball quickly.”

“We have to stay united, compact, and focused,” he continued, “try to play our game and take the lead quickly.”

Correa added that “We’re certainly happy with what we managed in Riyadh, but we’ve already put that in the past.”

“We want to win again today so that we can keep going in a positive direction.”
