Empoli could be ready to move to sign Inter striker Sebastiano Esposito on loan for the rest of the season, with the player’s anticipated loan move to Ternana hitting a snag.
This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that Ternana are struggling to get a loan move for the 20-year-old over the line, and that Empoli would be keen to try and swoop in and sign him before the end of the January transfer window.
Over the past few days, Esposito has looked to be close to making the move to Ternana on loan for the rest of the season.
The Umbrians had looked to be at the front of the queue of teams from Serie B and Serie A to sign the 20-year-old, whose loan spell in Belgium with Anderlecht has been cut short.
However, Ternana have yet to get a deal done, and Empoli coach Paolo Zanetti is keen to reunite with the striker with whom he worked at Venezia.
