Inter have already held the initial meetings in contract extension negotiations with defender Alessandro Bastoni and midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu.

This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, who reported live on air yesterday evening via FCInter1908 that the Nerazzurri have already met with the agents of both players to start up talks regarding new deals.

Inter are keen to extend the contracts of both Bastoni and Calhanogli.

The contracts of both of the duo are set to run out at the end of June 2024, but the Nerazzurri have no intention of getting anywhere near that point without clarity on the players’ futures.

In both cases, Inter’s preference looks to be to keep hold of them rather than to sell them.

Accordingly, the club do not want to waste time in starting talks with the two players’ agents, and according to Di Marzio, the preliminary meetings have already taken place.
