Premier League side Nottingham Forest want to get a deal done to sign Inter midfielder Roberto Gagliardini before the end of the January transfer window, but are yet to agree a fee.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the English club are keen to sign the 28-year-old and don’t want to wait until the summer, but that they must try and convince the Nerazzurri on a transfer fee.

One way or another, it looks clear that Gagliardini will depart Inter by the end of the current season at the latest.

However, the 28-year-old former Atalanta midfielder has come onto the radar of newly-promoted Premier League side Fulham, and they do not want to wait until he is available on a free transfer at the end of his deal with Inter to sign him.

Rather, Forest are keen to wrap up a deal for Gagliardini in the next few days.

The English team have already inquired about the availability of Gagliardini to Inter and to the player’s representatives, and will try and negotiate a move.

It remains to be seen if the English side will be able to convince the Nerazzurri on a deal, or if they will have to wait until Gagliardini is out of contract to try and sign the midfielder.
