Former Inter striker Nicola Ventola believes that bother the Nerazzurri and their city rivals AC Milan must immediately get out of their slumps in form if they don’t want to drop out of the Serie A title race.
Speaking on Christian Vieri’s Twitch channel, via FCInter1908, Ventola suggested that both the Nerazzurri and the Rossoneri could be at risk of missing out on qualifying for the Champions League for next season if they do not reverse the current trend.
Whilst Inter have managed statement wins over Napoli and Milan since returning from the winter break, they also slumped to a draw away to Monza before also suffering a shock defeat at home to Empoli.
Meanwhile, things are looking even worse for the Rossoneri, who are now without a win in five matches and were battered 4-0 by Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico.
As it stands, both of the Milan clubs occupy spots in the top four, but after recent results their margins are razor thin if they want to retain their spots in the Champions League, with all of Lazio, Roma, and Atalanta breathing down their necks.
On the subject of the Champions League, Ventola noted that “Both Inter and Milan really need to wake up soon.”
