Only the official club announcement remains before Inter wingback Matteo Darmian’s contract extension with the Nerazzurri is made official.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri are on the verge of extending the 33-year-old’s contract by one season, with the option of an additional season.

Inter are getting to work on various contract situations at the club, and Darmian’s looks to be one that is all but done already according to Mediaset.

The club have already spoken with the player’s agent Alessandro Lucci, and have essentially worked out all the terms on a new deal for the former Manchester United, Torino, and Parma player.

Nothing has been made official as of yet, but there is total agreement on both sides on a new contract extension that will take Darmian until the end of June 2024, with the option of going into the 2024-25 campaign.
