Inter striker Romelu Lukaku wants to stay at the Nerazzurri well past the end of the current season, but the Nerazzurri are not yet sure whether or not they will decide to extend his loan from Chelsea.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri’s decision will be based on what they see on the pitch from the 29-year-old over the remainder of the current season.

Lukaku’s form has not been what was expected so far this season, to put it mildly, after his high profile loan return from Chelsea.

This is giving the Nerazzurri much to think about regarding whether or not they will bring the Belgian back next season.

For the club, it will come down to whether or not Lukaku can finally start to show his best form over the rest of the campaign or whether injury and fitness struggles continue to hinder him.

On the player’s part, however, there is no doubt, as the Belgian wants to remain at Inter past the end of the season.
