Former Inter defender Francesco Colonnese feels that, at the moment, the sense of atmosphere surrounding the Nerazzurri is starting to become a real problem.

Speaking to Cremona-based newspaper La Provincia di Cremona ahead of tomorrow evening’s Serie A clash with Creremonese, via FCInterNews, Colonnese gave his thoughts on the current situation at his former club.

Inter have experienced some real setbacks in the past week or so.

Just a week on from victory in the Supercoppa Italiana over AC Milan, the Nerazzurri have had to deal with the revelation that defender Milan Skriniar does not intend to extend his contract.

Moreover, the Nerazzurri suffered a shock defeat against Empoli at the San Siro in Serie A on Monday, a match in which Skriniar was sent off.

All of this has the effect of putting a lot of stress on the morale of the team, and potentially affecting the players as they try to regain their confidence.

“They’re starting to struggle, and from my perspective the atmosphere is starting to reach critical levels,” Colonnese said.
