Inter have absolutely no intention of bringing back midfielder Giovanni Fabbian from his loan spell with Reggina before the end of January, even in the event of a late sale of Roberto Gagliardini.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri are considering whether to listen to offers for Gagliardini, but that there is no chance of Fabbian being recalled to take his place in the squad.

There is some interest in signing Gagliardini this month for a fee rather than waiting for a summer free transfer, particularly from Nottingham Forest.

Inter are thinking about whether they would consider any offers, but the issue would be that there is no other player in the midfield rotation with the kind of physical profile that the former Atalanta midfielder offers.

Accordingly, a solution would need to be found to replace the 28-year-old.

One hypothetical solution that will not be pursued, however, would be bringing Fabbian into the first team, as the 19-year-old will finish the season on loan witg Reggina.
