Inter are yet to decide on whether to renew Romelu Lukaku’s loan from Chelsea next season, after an underwhelming campaign so far.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere della Sera, the Belgium international will not start in the Nerazzurri’s Serie A match against Cremonese this afternoon, as he recovers from his latest injury setback.

Lukaku joined Chelsea in 2021 before returning to Inter in the summer after a dreadful season in the Premier League, but has fared little better in Serie A, with just two goals and 369 minutes of action in all competitions.

Inter are hoping that the 29-year-old can build up his fitness again and rediscover his form before they make a decision on whether to commit to keeping him for another season.

Meanwhile, the match against Cremonese at the Stadio Giovanni Zini could see Matteo Darmian move into the back three in place of suspended Milan Skriniar, whilst Kristjan Asllani is in line to replace Nicolo Barella in midfield.
