Robin Gosens is in line to start at left wingback during Inter’s Serie A match against Cremonese this afternoon, replacing Federico Dimarco.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere dello Sport, the German could be the surprise addition to coach Simone Inzaghi’s starting line-up at the Stadio Giovanni Zini, as Inter face Serie A’s bottom club.

Gosens has only made three starts this season but could be drafted in to allow Dimarco some rest, particularly with Inter set to face Atalanta in the Coppa Italia in midweek, followed by the Derby della Madonnina against AC Milan in Serie A next weekend.

Elsewhere, midfielder Nicolo Barella is suspended after picking up a yellow card in the defeat to Empoli, with Roberto Gagliardini the favourite to step in.

However, he is facing competition from Kristjan Asllani and 17-year-old Valentin Carboni, although it is thought unlikely that the latter will be entrusted to start the game given his inexperience.
