AC Milan could be without right-back Sergino Dest when they face Inter in the Derby della Madonnina next weekend in Serie A.

As reported by, Rossoneri coach Stefano Pioli left the USA international out of their squad for today’s league match against Sassuolo after he suffered a muscle injury, putting his availability for next weekend in doubt.

Milan have recovered Theo Hernandez, Davide Calabria, and Rade Krunic, but have been dealt a blow with the loss of Dest, as they attempt to revive their collapsing Serie A title defence.

Dest joined Milan from Barcelona on a season-long loan last summer and has made 14 appearances for the Rossoneri in all competitions, with eight of those coming in Serie A.

Inter have moved ahead of their city rivals with a 2-1 victory over Cremonese yesterday, and will look to heap further misery on Milan as the home team at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza next Sunday.
