Inter defender Francesco Acerbi came in for criticism after struggling to contain Cremonese striker David Okereke in the 2-1 win yesterday.

As reported by L’Interista.it, the Lazio loanee was disappointing and ran the risk of a first half red card after a poor tackle on Okereke when the Nigerian striker was about to race clear, with only the position of Alessandro Bastoni as the last defender ensuring he only received a yellow.

Acerbi received a 6 from both La Gazzetta dello Sport and Tuttosport in their player ratings respectively, with the former conceding that he had improved in the second half of the match at the Stadio Giovanni Zini.

However, Corriere dello Sport felt that Acerbi had been lucky to escape a dismissal and argued that he was close to receiving a red card, as they awarded him a 5.5.

It was the same score given to him by Tuttomercatoweb and L’Interista themselves, who suggested that Okereke had given Acerbi a headache throughout the match.
