Inter are yet to decide on whether to retain Romelu Lukaku after a loan spell from Chelsea, with the striker required to prove himself over the coming months.

Writing in an editorial piece for Tuttomercatoweb, Italian journalist Niccolo Ceccarini gave an update on Inter’s transfer dealings and revealed that the Nerazzurri are concerned by Lukaku’s form and fitness this season, with the Belgian only managing two goals and less than 400 minutes of football.

Lukaku left Inter for Chelsea in 2021 before returning on loan last summer, and whilst Inter had been keen to bring him in again next season, the next few months are set to be decisive.

Meanwhile, Ceccarini also suggested that it was now almost certain that Inter defender Milan Skriniar would be a Paris Saint-Germain player next season as he reaches the end of his contract, but it was unlikely PSG would meet the Nerazzurri’s €20 million asking price this month.

Inter will focus on contract renewals, with Matteo Darmian close to a new deal and midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu next in line to be offered new terms.
