Inter midfielder Roberto Gagliardini proved to be a disappointment after being afforded a starting place during the 2-1 win over Cremonese in Serie A yesterday.

As reported by L’Interista.it, the Italian was given the chance to impress at the Stadio Giovanni Zini due to Nicolo Barella’s suspension and Marcelo Brozovic’s injury, with coach Simone Inzaghi opting for him over Kristjan Asllani.

La Gazzetta dello Sport and Tuttosport were unimpressed with Gagliardini’s performance and felt that it was only worthy of a 5.5 in their player ratings.

L’Interista, meanwhile, suggested that the former Atalanta midfielder was one of the worst players on the pitch and was unable to repay the trust of Inzaghi, as they hit him with a 5.

Corriere dello Sport were more forgiving in awarding him a 6, whilst claiming that he brought physicality and presence on the edge of Cremonese’s penalty area, but his technical ability was limited.

Meanwhile, Gagliardini was given a 6 by Tuttomercatoweb, after an underwhelming performance.
