Chelsea have clearly indicated that they are not interested in signing Inter wingback Denzel Dumfries this month, but this does not mean that their interest has disappeared in view of next summer transfer window.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Blues ultimately declined the chance to sign the 26-year-old before the January transfer window closes.

Dumfries has been one of the top names on Chelsea’s radar since last summer transfer window, when Inter turned down offers from the Premier League giants.

The former PSV man’s agent Rafaela Pimenta had made a trip to England earlier this month, with one of her main objectives sounding out interest in his signature from Premier League clubs.

Chelsea were one of the main suspects to make an offer to sign Dumfries this month.

The English club ultimately decided against making an offer for the Dutchman this month as they pursued other priorities, but according to Tuttosport the interest is very much still there for as early as this summer.
