Inter target Benjamin Pavard has told his current club Bayern Munich that he would have no intention of extending his contract past the end of June 2024.

This according to Italian news outlet Calciomercato.com, who report that the 26-year-old could be an attainable target for the Nerazzurri, as Bayern may decide to cash in on him at a relatively low fee in June given his current contract situation.

Inter’s search for a defensive replacement for Milan Skriniar is now in full swing, and Pavard’s name has emerged as one of their major targets.

The 2018 World Cup winner with France would have the right profile to take the place of the 27-year-old, as he is capable of playing at both right-back and at centre-back, meaning that he has the characteristics to play on the right of a back three.

According to Calciomercato, Pavard has made clear that he does not intend to sign a new deal given that his playing time has dwindled in recent seasons, and this could well make him available in the summer if the Bavarians don’t want to lose him for free.
