Inter striker Lautaro Martinez continued his blazing run of form with an assist in the Nerazzurri’s 1-0 Coppa Italia win over Atalanta yesterday evening.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who note that this takes the Argentine’s total for goal contributions to seven since the return from the winter break.

Martinez has looked like a man on a mission for Inter since the 25-year-old returned from the World Cup break, which saw him help Argentina to glory in Qatar.

The Argentine had already scored six goals in seven matches prior to yesterday evening’s Coppa Italia quarterfinal against Atalanta.

Whilst Martinez was unable to add to his tally of goals, he did prove crucial in unlocking the match, laying off the ball well to defender Matteo Darmian for the match’s only goal.

With this, the 25-year-old takes his tally to seven for the calendar year 2023, behind only the on-fire Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman in terms of goal contributions for players in Italy’s top flight.
