Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny has been offered to Inter on a free transfer as a possible replacement for Roberto Gagliardini for the summer transfer window.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the 30-year-old Egyptian international has been proposed to the Nerazzurri as a possible free transfer opportunity, although for the time being the Nerazzurri directors are lukewarm on the possibility as they assess their options.

With Gagliardini set to leave Inter in the summer when his current contract runs out at the end of June, the Nerazzurri will be in search of a midfield signing to replace the former Atalanta midfielder.

According to FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri are still considering their strategy to replace Gagliardini and have a number of possibilities in mind.

However, the news outlet reports, one option that has been offered has been Elneny, whose current contract with Premier League leaders Arsenal is set to expire at the end of June.

The Egyptian has yet to agree a new deal with the Gunners, whilst he is likely to miss the rest of the current season through a serious knee injury.

Inter are considering the possibility of lining up a free transfer for the summer, but at the moment they are not overly keen on moving on a deal for Elneny.
