Inter will watch striker Romelu Lukaku’s form over the next few matches as they decide on whether or not to extend his loan from Chelsea.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the coming weeks will be decisive in the Nerazzurri’s decision on whether or not to keep Lukaku past the end of the current season.

Inter have yet to make a clear decision on whether or not they want to extend Lukaku’s loan from Chelsea, which as things stand expires at the end of June.

Given the 29-year-old’s persistent struggles with injury and fitness problems this season, Inter have been wary.

However, Lukaku is fit again, and if the striker can put together a run of matches in the coming weeks, the Nerazzurri will likely be convinced that he has a place for the future.

Given the struggles with fitness, though, Inter will try to negotiate a lower loan fee from Chelsea starting next season, as well as a pay cut for the player if he wishes to stay.
