Inter are likely to hold contract extension talks with midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu and his representatives sometime not long after the Champions League round of sixteen clash with Porto later this month.

This according to Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, who report that the talks with the 28-year-old and his representatives are progressing quickly, and that the next move forward could come after the Champions League match against the Portuguese champions.

As things stand, Calhanoglu’s contract with Inter is set to run out at the end of June 2024.

However, the Nerazzurri have no intention of allowing the former AC Milan, Bayer Leverkusen, and Hamburg player go into the final year of his deal.

Rather, TMW report, Inter have made advancing in contract talks with the Turkish international a priority.

There have already been meetings to present an initial offer to Calhanoglu and his representatives, and according to TMW, a new round of talks is likely to be scheduled for shortly after the match against Porto.
