Chelsea are ready to start discussing an extension of striker Romelu Lukaku’s loan to Inter, but the Nerazzurri are still waiting for a clear sign that the Belgian will find form and fitness.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, via FCInterNews, who report that Inter have not yet opened up talks with the Blues about the striker’s future.

For Chelsea’s part, the London-based Premier League giants are ready to allow Lukaku to stay at Inter on loan past the end of the season, whilst on the player’s end the desire to remain in Milan is clear.

However, Inter have some wariness, on account of the 29-year-old’s injury woes this season.

The Nerazzurri are watching Lukaku’s performances closely over the next few matches, and if they get the sense that he is finally returning to being able to play at his best regularly, then they will be ready to start talks with Chelsea.
