Inter are likely to extend the contract of current third-choice goalkeeper Alex Cordaz past the end of the current season.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via L’Interista, who report that the Nerazzurri are leaning towards continuing to rely on the former Crotone man than looking for a new third-choice keeper.

Cordaz joined Inter from Crotone in the summer of 2021, with the 40-year-old having been the captain of the Calabrian team after leaving as they were relegated from Serie B.

The Italian had come through Inter’s youth ranks in his early career, and his return was seen as bringing a reliable option into the dressing room and training who was familiar with the club and could help younger players settle in.

According to Tuttosport, Inter remain happy with Cordaz in his role, and they are ready to hand him an extension to a deal which currently expires at the end of June.
