Inter will be willing to listen to offers for midfielder Marcelo Brozovic during the summer transfer window.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri would consider the Croat one of the players who could be cashed in on as his situation has changed over the course of the season.

At the start of the campaign Brozovic had been, if not the single most irreplaceable player in the Inter lineup, certainly high up on the list.

Whilst Kristjan Asllani had been signed from Empoli to provide a real like-for-like backup to the 30-year-old, something that had not been present last campaign, it was still felt that the Nerazzurri cannot play at their best without Brozovic on the pitch.

This could have been a huge problem, then, as Brozovic has ended up missing a significant portion of the season through injury.

However, after a fairly positive start to the season in which the Croat had even started to add goals to the season, and then a lengthy spell on the sidelines for the player, Inter have instead learned to adapt in his absence.

The emergence of former AC Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu in the regista role has been the key factor that has allowed the team to not look lost on the pitch without Brozovic as they had at times last season.

Now, not even twelve months on from what was at the time seen as a crucial contract extension, Brozovic could be one of the major candidates for a summer sale at Inter.
