Inter defender Milan Skriniar is set to start for the Nerazzurri in Sunday’s derby clash with AC Milan as he seeks to start reasserting himself in the team following a torrid couple of weeks.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper, via FCInter1908, who report that the Slovakian has promised to his teammates that he will give his all until the end of the season despite his plan to leave and join Paris Saint-Germain.

Skriniar has now missed two matches for Inter, through suspension and due to transfer market uncertainty, whilst his most recent performance in a Nerazzurri was surely one of his most memorably bad as the former Sampdoria defender was sent off for two needless yellow cards in the first half of a shock loss to Empoli.

Accordingly, the 27-year-old will undoubtedly have a lot of work to do reestablishing his reputation at Inter and winning back the Nerazzurri fans at least until the end of the current season.

According to the Gazzetta, however, Skriniar has made clear to the rest of the squad that, regardless of his intention to leave in the summer, he wants to make one final push over what remains of the campaign.

The derby against Milan this weekend would certainly be an ideal place for the 27-year-old to begin this reconstruction work, and according to the Gazzetta, he will be on the pitch from the first minute.
