Inter striker Lautaro Martinez has been handed a €1500 fine for an outburst directed at referee Daniele Chiffi during the Nerazzurri’s Coppa Italia quarterfinal win over Atalanta.

This is confirmed by the Italian Sporting Justice, who handed out the punishments for the quarterfinal round of fixtures in the Coppa Italia now that all of the matches have been played, via FCInterNews.

During the match between Inter and Atalanta at the San Siro, Martinez became visibly frustrated with some of Chiffi’s decision, particularly with the official’s decision not to award a penalty for handball in the first half, and for not giving a free kick when the Argentine felt that he had been fouled.

Martinez protested vehemently to the referee on the pitch, whilst after he was substituted made his feelings known with further complaints accusing the official of being harsh on the Nerazzurri with his decisions.

Meanwhile, all of Joaquin Correa, Robin Gosens, and Andre Onana were also sanctioned for their protests to the officials during the match.
