AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli is set to switch formations from a 4-2-3-1 to a 4-3-3 with a midfield trio for tomorrow evening’s Serie A clash with Inter.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Rossoneri coach will opt for a trio of Sandro Tonali, Rade Krunic, and one of Tommaso Pobega or Aster Vranckx centrally for the derby.

Pioli has his options somewhat limited in midfield by the absence through injury for usual holding midfielder Ismael Bennacer.

Accordingly, the Gazzetta reports, the Rossoneri coach is set to switch things up formation-wise, with Tonali playing as the deepest midfield,  but flanked by two other central midfielders to offer the former Brescia midfielder more support and solidity.

Meanwhile, in attack, the Gazzetta anticipates that Rafael Leao and Alexis Saelemakers will start either side of striker Olivier Giroud in the front three.
