Inter could get contract extension talks with midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu wrapped up by the beginning of March.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri are not wasting any time in advancing contract negotiations with the 28-year-old with an agreement potentially arriving soon.

Calhanoglu has increasingly emerged as a key player for Inter, as he has become a linchpin in midfield as well as a leader in the dressing room.

For this reason, the Nerazzurri do not have any doubts about wanting to extend the former AC Milan, Bayer Leverkusen, and Hamburg man’s contract past the end of June 2024.

The talks between Inter and Calhanoglu and his representatives are already well underway.

According to the Corriere, things have already moved along quite a bit as there is a will on both sides of negotiations to find an agreement, and the Turkish international’s deal could be extended by early next month.
