Inter are set to take in the second-largest ever gate receipt for a Serie A match from a sold-out San Siro in tomorrow evening’s derby clash with AC Milan.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the total earnings for the Nerazzurri from the gate receipt will be €5.8 million, second only to the €6.6 million earned from a league fixture between Inter and Juventus in 2019.

It is little surprise that the San Siro will be a packed house for the Milan derby tomorrow.

Always a showpiece occasion of Italian football, the stadium always draws a significant crowd with tickets tending to be sold out well in advance.

From a financial perspective, for Inter, this has meant that the gate receipt for tomorrow’s match will reach €5.8 million.

This does not reach quite as high as the largest gate receipt ever for a Serie A match, which is still the €6.6 million taken in for a Serie A clash between the Nerazzurri and Juventus at the San Siro in October of 2019.

However, it is still enough for second place in the rankings.
