Inter coach Simone Inzaghi is likely to move his usual midfield around a bit to try and counteract AC Milan’s buildup in midfield in tomorrow evening’s derby clash with the Rossoneri.

This is detailed in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri coach could push Henrikh Mkhitaryan almost into a Number Ten position as he aims to disrupt the rhythm of Milan midfielder Sandro Tonali.

There is little chance of Inzaghi deviating too far from his usual 3-5-2 formation on the pitch, and it is expected that the trio that has become first-choice this season of Nicolo Barella, Hakan Calhanoglu, and Mkhitaryan will start.

The novelty, however, could come in the form of Mkhitaryan’s positioning.

The Gazzetta suggested that the 33-year-old former Roma midfielder could be asked to do a disciplined job pressing Milan midfielder Tonali from the front.

With Rossoneri coach Stefano Pioli likely to switch to a 4-3-3 formation to have more players closer together in midfield during the buildup phase, Inzaghi is keen to tweak his own system to make this difficult for the Rossoneri.
