Inter are very keen to get a move on in contract extension negotiations with defender Alessandro Bastoni, as they do not want to risk letting the 23-year-old go into the final season of his deal.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInter1908, who report that the situation with Milan Skriniar set to leave the club on a free transfer has made the Nerazzurri very wary of allowing top players to go into the final seasons of their contract, and that they will speed up talks very soon.

Bastoni’s current contract with Inter is set to run out at the end of June 2024.

However, the club’s intention is to not let the former Parma and Atalanta defender get anywhere near the end of his current deal without having agreed an extension.

Accordingly, the Nerazzurri will soon hold another round of talks with Bastoni and his representatives, having already made the initial approaches to the player’s agent.

The club’s intention is to have talks with Bastoni wrapped up by the end of the current season.
