Inter could well decide to cash in on midfielder Marcelo Brozovic during the summer transfer window, with the factors lining up in the direction of a sale of the 30-year-old.

This is the view in today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInter1908, who suggest that the “clues line up” towards Brozovic being the man to be put up for sale if the Nerazzurri have to make a big sale apart from Denzel Dumfries.

There is little doubt that Inter will likely have to sell at least one top player in the summer, and in this respect, Dumfries has been the player most strongly linked with a move away.

However, selling the Dutchman may not be enough for Inter to meet their financial targets for the summer, and they could be forced into making another big sale.

Deciding upon a player to be moved on will not be easy, but according to Tuttosport, Brozovic may have become the least indispensable player among Inter’s top players based on this season.

If the Croat came into the campaign as virtually irreplaceable, the emergence of Hakan Calhanoglu as a very able option in the deep-lying midfield role, combined with the continued growth of Kristjan Asllani, mean that his importance is not quite what it had been.

For this reason, Tuttosport suggests, the Nerazzurri could well cope without him in a way that they could not Nicolo Barella or Lautaro Martinez, for example.
