Inter’s new training kit sponsor LeoVegas could take the place of DigitalBits as the Nerazzurri’s main shirt sponsor in the future, although only if the regulations around betting sponsorships in Italy changes.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who suggest that the question of whether the ban on betting sponsors in Italian football would be crucial to whether the Nerazzurri can agree a deal.

Inter announced yesterday that they have agreed a deal with online betting company LeoVegas who will become the team’s training kit sponsor until the end of the 2024-25 season.

According to the Corriere, the Nerazzurri will earn around €4 million per season from their partnership with LeoVegas, certainly crucial revenue given the collapse of their deal with DigitalBits as main shirt sponsor.

However, Inter are still left scrambling to replace DigitalBits after the cryptocurrency company have been unable to make the payments they’ve owed on the deal.

According to the Corriere, LeoVegas would be a real candidate to do so, but the decisive factor will be whether or not the ban on betting-related sponsorships is lifted in Italian football.
