Inter forward Joaquin Correa is likely to be out of Inter’s Champions League round of sixteen first leg match against Porto later this month as he recovers from a thigh injury.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the 28-year-old has suffered a strain to the semimembranosus muscle to his right thigh, and that he is a major doubt for the clash with Porto at the San Siro on January 22.

Correa was not included in Inter’s squad for yesterday evening’s Milan derby, as the Argentine had picked up a thigh problem in training the day prior to the match.

Today, the former Lazio, Sevilla, and Sampdoria man underwent tests with the Nerazzurri’s medical staff to assess the injury.

According to FCInterNews, the tests revealed the strain in Correa’s right thigh.

The recovery period for the injury will be such that Correa will miss next Monday’s Serie A match against Sampdoria, whilst he is also a doubt for matches afterwards including the match against Porto later this month.
