Italian journalist Luigi Garlando feels that Inter were far and away the better side in their derby win over AC Milan yesterday evening, and that the only thing that could have been improved with their performance would have been being more clinical in front of goal.

Writing in his column in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNewss, Garlando suggested that the Nerazzurri’s one mistake was in not making it a more emphatic scoreline than 1-0.

Inter only won by a 1-0 scoreline against the Rossoneri yesterday evening, with Lautaro Martinez’s first-half header from a corner enough to seal the victory.

In truth, however, the match probably could have been sealed much earlier than it was, as the Nerazzurri had chances to kill off their city rivals’ hopes rather than having to hold onto their clean sheet until the final whistle in order to preserve the three points.

Garlando writes that “Inter won their second derby in twenty days yesterday, and they did so with only one fault, namely not killing off the match earlier than they did.”
